I have always been enamored with quilt making and finally got the chance to own my own shop. I have owned and operated Grammy G's for 8 years now and I take a lot of pride in my store and customer service.
I started out of my garage in Post Falls, ID and when I moved to Viola, ID, in 2008, I opened a shop in a family farm house. I was still working full time while trying to get my inventory built up but after 2 ½ years in the rural farm house, I had an opportunity to move my location to Palouse, WA. I recently moved to my new location, just west of my first Palouse shop on Main Street alongside Riverside Retreat and Inn.
I love bright colors and gorgeous prints. I prefer to do pictorial quilts, applique any fiber, any art style. But I do love to make bed quilts also.
I do several Quilt Shows a year throughout Idaho, Washington and Montana. I love getting out there and meeting all the talented people who love quilting as much as I do. It is astounding to see how many ladies I have met during these shows that come visit my shop. Some live in different States and still make a point to come visit! I have participated in several Shop-Hops with other quilt shops in the surrounding areas which creates a lot of fun for those who enjoy quilt making. It is wonderful to see the excitement as they come in with all their goodies! I have also been going to “Quilt Camps” for several years now, loading up a lot of my inventory in my trailer for the ladies to ooh and ahh over. It is a lot of fun for me and it makes for a fun weekend for the ladies to have a chance to look over the latest patterns, gadgets and notions while they are doing their "hands on" quilting class. It also gives them the opportunity to have all their questions answered on how to do the types of quilts they have dreamed about.
In January 2016, I purchased a building here in Palouse, and opened up a Riverside Retreat and Inn. This space can hold up to 6 people and has a large area to set up your machines so you can quilt to your hearts content. When you need a short break from quilting, you can sit on the large wrap around deck on the front porch or watch the lazy Palouse River from the back deck while you bond with your quilting classmates. You can visit the web page at: www.riversideretreatandinn.com.
Enjoy my website and come visit soon.
